Position Title: Business Modelling Specialist
Location: Anzac Park West Constitution Avenue (Preferred), Other Defence Sites (Commonwealth Premises) and Remote.
Employment Type: [Full-Time/Contract]
Security Clearance: Minimum NV1 security clearance
Experience: 10 years experience in business modelling or strategic analysis roles, with at least the last 3 years working on defence-related projects. Experience with Defence ICT projects highly regarded.
Salary: 161,000 – 221,000
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Business Modelling Specialist to provide strategic insights and analytical expertise within defence ICT projects. This role focuses on creating and refining business models, analysing processes, and delivering data-driven recommendations to enhance organisational decision-making and operational effectiveness.
You will play a pivotal role in developing frameworks and models that align with Defence objectives, ensuring sustainable and effective solutions across various initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Model Development:
- Design and develop innovative business models to address strategic challenges and opportunities.
- Assess feasibility, risks, and potential outcomes of proposed models.
- Strategic Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of organisational goals, processes, and market dynamics.
- Provide recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data to support strategic decision-making.
- Process Optimisation:
- Map, analyse, and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Identify areas of inefficiency and propose actionable solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Defence to align business models with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input and feedback.
- Data Modelling and Visualisation:
- Use advanced modelling techniques and tools to simulate scenarios and predict outcomes.
- Create clear, actionable reports and visualisations for senior leadership.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all modelling activities adhere to Defence policies, standards, and frameworks.
- Maintain documentation to support transparency and accountability.
Key Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in business modelling, process analysis, or strategic planning roles.
- Strong understanding of business modelling frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Business Model Canvas).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Familiarity with Defence ICT environments and compliance requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory).
- Minimum NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory).
- 10 years of relevant experience in business modelling or strategic analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
